I’ve been reading “Why Buddhism is True: The Science and Philosophy of Meditation and Enlightenment”, by Robert Wright. Recently I sat on a bench, when I arrived at the park and realized that I was early for a group hike. I spent the time reading, and reflecting for a few moments – I picked up a fallen leaf, yellow with the spirit of fall, and pressed it between the pages of the book. Trails: Dripping Rock Trail miles, Strenuous. Trailhead: Nature Center Loop trail that connects the Park's Nature Center to the Big Meadows Picnic Area. The trail passes through thick forests and past one of the deepest ravines in all of Central Ohio. Also located on the trail is a spur trail that takes you to an ancient Indian burial mound.

Highbanks Metro Park is about as hilly as it gets in the Columbus area. The trails are not technically challenging, but they are constantly rolling and provide a nice physical challenge. The amount of mileage, hills, scenery, and proximity to the city make it one of my favorite Metro Parks.
